Concord Rangers FC 2-3 Lewes FC

Ryman League Premier Division 2011 2012 Season. Report: Tom Harper (Lewes) - A Harry Harding penalty with just three minutes remaining helped Lewes FC pick up a vital win at Concord Rangers, and kept the Rooks play-off hopes alive going into next weekend's final game of the season. Simon Wormull made one change to the side which won 1-0 at Cray Wanderers in their previous match, with Malvin Kamara replacing Charlie Leach in the starting line-up. Lewes took the lead after just two minutes, when Nathan Crabb latched onto a lofted through-ball from Chris Breach and lifted the ball over Concord goalkeeper Nicky Eyre to get the Rooks off to the perfect start. If anything this goal galvanised the hosts though, and they nearly equalised soon after when a Tony Stokes header from a Karl Beckford cross went just wide. They came even closer to equalising minutes later, as a long free-kick in the Lewes penalty area ended with Steve King sending a header against the foot of the post. Hav! ing weathered this storm, Lewes almost doubled their lead after 25 minutes, when Chris Breach saw his close-range header from a Harry Harding free-kick deflected just over the crossbar. However, Concord did equalise after 31 minutes. The goal was scored by Kurt Robinson, who finished well from close range after a Reece Harris cross had been blocked by Max Hustwick following an impressive passing move from the hosts.
